I was watching animal antics on U-Tube recently. You know, dogs, cats. rats and ferrets playing around and doing their tricks. Proud pet owners show them on video because it can all be very amusing and entertaining. You can also get some very useful pet care information from experts.

Imagine my dismay when I saw a video by one sicko pet owner who filmed his ferret killing and eating a live young mouse on a floor in his home.

The mouse was simply tossed in front of the ferret who took its time killing the poor mite and then hauled it away to eat. There was no chase, no thrill, no competition – just a downright bloody spectacle.

At first I was horrified. Then I thought why can this sort of garbage be allowed on U-Tube which is a very public site. Do we accept mentally unbalanced people publicly displaying sickly scenes like this? I’m sure a lot of pet owners like me would not support such actions.

It’s not only with mice and ferrets. There are also other videos on U-Tube, like snakes eating rats. God knows what else if you go searching for it.

I mean would you really want to watch that kind of thing? Do you want your young kids to?

I hope the bosses of U-Tube read this and maybe do something about it. I’m all for reality and teaching young people the facts of life but killing creatures for the sake of macabre entertainment is just not on.

What do you think? Do you have an opinion? Let the world know for the sake of our pets as well as the moral aspect.

It’s said we live in a sick society. It seems like that when you witness the killing of pets for entertainment.

With 1995′s Toy Story Pixar forever changed the way we watched animated movies. As great as classic hand-drawn animated films like Snow White, The Jungle Book and The Lion King are they just don’t pop off the screen the way that today’s three dimensional CGI films do. Though oldtimers might argue, movies today are more visually arresting and immersing than ever before. Pixar has continued to raise the incredibly high bar they set with Toy Story, somehow managing to outdo themselves with each new film they release. Up is no exception to that trend, and the film has become an instant classic and is one of the contenders for the title of best film of 2009.

While most of Pixar’s early films were light and fluffy their most recent offerings Wall-E and now Up have introduced more emotional depth. In this latest film the storytelling is so powerful that you will find yourself a helpless passenger on an emotional roller coaster throughout, and you’ll feel an empathy for the characters rarely elicited in an animated movie. There were plenty of moist eyes in the theater when I saw this film, and a few people were openly crying.

Don’t let that fool you into thinking this film is a downer – it is not. Sure there are some poignantly sad moments, but that is just part of the emotional roller coaster I mentioned above. Like all Pixar films there is plenty of humor as well, and once again they’ve struck the perfect balance of comedy that will appeal to children and adults alike.

Also, like all Pixar films the voice acting is top-notch. Ed Asner of The Mary Tyler Moore Show fame does an Oscar-worthy job voicing the main character, the once gentle but grown cantankerous Carl Fredricksen, who sets off on an amazing journey to fulfill a promise made to his deceased wife. 9 year old Jordan Nagai is also great voicing Russell, a young wilderness explorer who is swept up in Carl’s adventure. Fans of the TV show Cheers will recognize John Ratzenberger’s voice. A Pixar movie regular he always seems to have at least a bit part in each of their movies.

Up, like Toy Story, Finding Nemo and Wall-E before it, is a movie that will be enjoyed by viewers of any age, and this clever animated film more than holds its own on the list of contenders for the title of the best movie of 2009.

Animation is something that I like to watch a lot, sometimes it feels crazy when you keep watching animes (like Naruto and Dragonball z) and talking about them anywhere and everywhere you go. Some people think that this is crazy, from their point of view it’s like “Those things are just imaginative, their is nothing like flying persons having unlimited powers, that may destroy the world and they are fighting at the cost of their lives to save this earth. Some of them are not even earthling, they are like alien or extra-terrestrials who are from some other planet and galaxy, which in fact also know our language, i mean can you believe it all of those aliens can speak our language, starting form Japanese or Chinese then they also know English and then they came to know your regional language, isn’t that odd? and my answer is always same to them, “they are alien what do expect from them, though i know that they are just mare imaginative creatures and it can also be TRUE that their is no such thing like Aliens or extra-terrestrial, as I always say no one can think of anything new. Those things are always modified from some other thoughts which have some origins of reality, so in this case their must be something that do exist and creating these stories or giving ideas of these stories. It’s like they have an alien Grandma who keeps story telling them every night and they make a story out of it and sell it to some production company.

Well except this I mean my friends i also have some problem facing because of my parents who do not understand my feeling towards those animes, I believe O.K., I do believe that those animes are fake having no real origin or any grandma telling stories, but still the story and the concept of these animes are just marvelous and some of them even give us good education and also some journal knowledge, if they ever look it in that kind of way. Well in my case I came to know about many things, like the spiritual power of a normal human being and it’s uses and that power is also known as “CHI”. Sometimes i like to learn their language so that i don’t have to wait to watch them in a language that i understand. They also provide some geographical knowledge and their Sci-Fi concept may look like that they are giving a sneak peak into the world of future where many things, NO, approximately everything is being controlled by those damn Machines, and that makes some persons to find that kind of technology which is totally human operated having no brain of itself. The main point it spreads the word of peace and to fight for “What you Love” even if you have to die for it and that thing include the positive side of life. For me it’s like a really entertaining encyclopedia. So what do you think about that, huh!?

Since the very beginning of time, man has always been interested in capturing a sense of motion in every work of art. Right from the eight legged boar that was first found in the Altamira caves in Northern Spain to right alongside the mummified remains of pharaohs long gone, this craze for capturing motion is always evident in every artistic endeavor known to man.

A good example of what an ancient comic strip would like can be found in the ancient Egyptian wall decorations. A famous illustration by Leonardo da Vinci depicts how various limbs would look in different positions. Giotto’s seem to miraculously be taking flight in their motions, and the Japanese made use of scrolls to tell their stories.

Real animation can never be achieved without the person first understanding a basic principle: “the persistence of vision”. This particular principle was first brought to our notice in the 19th century by a Frenchman with the name of Paul Roget, who also invented the thaumotrope. This particular contraption happened to be a disc with a string attached on both ends. One side of the disc had a bird on it and the other an empty cage. When the disc was twirled, the bird would appear to be in the cage. This only goes to show that the human eye can retain images even when it is exposed to a series of pictures, one at a time.

Since then, there have been two other inventions that have gone a long way in furthering the cause of animation: the phenakistoscope by Joseph Plateau and the zoetrope by Pierre Desvignes. The phenakistoscope was a circular card like structure with slits along the edges. When the viewer held this whirling device up to a mirror and looked through the slits, a series of drawings along the circumference of the card would appear to the viewer as a moving object. The same technique was used for the zoetrope, wherein a strip of paper containing drawings was carefully inserted into a cylinder. The cylinder was then twirled on a spindle and the viewer would gaze through the slots on the top of the cylinder. The figures on the insides of the cylinder would magically come to life.

The invention of the motion camera and projector by Edison was the first real invention that propelled the concept of animation into reality. And although, animation became reality with the motion camera, it was still in its simplest of forms. The short film by Stuart Blackton, “Humorous Phases of Funny Faces” was probably the first real movie to bring animation to life. For the movie, comical faces where drawn on a blackboard and then photographed, after which they were erased and another stage of expressions would be drawn.

This particular “stop motion” effect managed to captivate audiences by the simple fact that it managed to make basic drawings come to life.

In the early 20’s, the hype surrounding animated cartoon began to diminish while movie exhibitors began to look elsewhere for other sources of entertainment media. The reason behind this being that the audience was bored stiff of watching animated figurines doing their thing without there being any real storyline to it. Up until this point, animation was still in its basic form (with the exceptions of Winsor McCay’s works like Gertie the Dinosaur). What McCay managed to accomplish was a character in this dinosaur that he brought to life, something which was only seen in Felix the cat by Otto Messmer. The very notion of a dinosaur coming to life was in itself remarkable.

The biggest drawback about the animated flicks that came out during this time was the fact that there was never any importance given to plots. The animated flicks during this time were only a series of gags that were haphazardly strung together. And not what anyone today would call funny.

Of course you have to take into consideration that most of the animated movies were based on stringing primitive gags (and in many cases violence) together. In many movies you would have one character beating another character mercilessly. Or, the hero would cut the villain into tiny slices of ham.

As nonsensical as it may sound to us today, it did work for a while back then, until a big change came about in the animation industry towards the mid twenties. The bigger animation studios began to take over the smaller projects and set certain industry standards for animation. Animators were given a definite number of drawings to draw per day and cartoons began to be manufactured cheaply and in quantity.

And this is how the animation industry got started before the times of Disney.

Anime is the most popular form of animation created by the Japanese. Its popularity is spread throughout the whole world. At present, thousands of people still love to watch anime. There is a wide genre of anime – love, splice of life, fantasy, comedy, drama and horror. Anime is just like any TV show or movie. The only difference is the use of animation instead of real life characters.

People nowadays find it hard to catch up to every episode of their favorite anime shows because of their rough schedule. Students might not have time to watch their favorite anime because they have to study for exams or do some projects. People at work might not be able to watch their favorite anime because of their schedule at work or because of overtime. If you are also experiencing this kind of problem, then you might want to thank the Internet.

The Internet gives us the ability to watch anime anytime. This can be done in two ways: video streaming and file downloading.

You can stream videos online form various websites. There are many websites, such as YouTube.com and Veoh.com that you can visit to watch anime episodes. There are also other websites that allows you to stream videos. Simply search these websites on search engines such as Yahoo.com and Google.com

Now, if you want anime download, you have several methods that you can use to get downloads. But before that, be aware that downloading files from the Internet may not be safe. That’s because malware can attach itself from the files that you are downloading and thus, infect your computer. If you don’t mind, then you can download without worries. But you might want to step back if you do not want to harm your computer.

The first method is to simply find a website that allows a direct download of the files. Some websites offer free downloads, but most websites need a subscription fee. Furthermore, you have to keep your computer on until the download finishes, which could be a disadvantage.

Use a BitTorrent Client. A BitTorrent Client is an application that allows you to share downloads with other users. The more users that download/seed the same file, the faster the download. After installing a BitTorrent Client, look for a torrent file. Websites such as Mininova.org offers thousands of torrent files for your use. Its advantage over direct download is that you can stop the download and continue the download anytime. The best part of using BitTorrent Clients is that it is for free.

Find and use FTP websites that offer anime downloads. FTP websites allow you to download many files such as video files in a faster and a more secured way. But FTP websites usually ask for a subscription fee. But since it is a more secured method of downloading, you can worry less for malware such as viruses and Trojans that infects your computer.

Anime is such a great form of animation that everyone would surely like. Also, as a fan of anime, you should know that it’s not only the animation that’s great, the storyline is the one that keeps you watching anime.

Does it surprise you that there are so many people who make anime the center of their lives? Just as cigarettes and alcohol can be addicting, anime can be addicting too. People who are addicted to anime, however, are termed as otaku, anime otaku, to be exact. There are people who do nothing all day but watch anime, think about anime, theorize about anime, collect anime, squeal about anime, and dream about anime. Well, not really but they still do a lot of stuff that are not related to anime, but you get the point. They’re totally and undeniably addicted to anime and who can blame them? Anime is just about one of the most addicting things in the world. But what makes it so addicting?

As a self-confessed anime addict, I’ll have to say that there are several reasons why anime is so addicting.

Characters

The first, and probably the most compelling reason of all, is the sheer beauty by which the makers create their characters. Out of all cartoons in the world, it is only in Japanese anime that I have seen such well rounded and realistic characters that are so distinctly human. Anime does not delude the viewers into thinking that someone can be perfect. The heroes and heroines in anime, beautiful as they may be, have their own flaws and insecurities. They’re not like the princesses in the cartoon fairy tales who are epitomes of grace and goodness, and are thereby incredibly flat and drab. Anime heroes and heroines are human, and their humanity makes them all the more interesting.

Also, because they each have their own personalities, we’re sure to find at least one character in every show with whom we can relate with and empathize with. And this is one of the biggest reasons why we get hooked in anime versus American cartoons because we’re always trying to find out what’s going to happen with our favorite characters.

Plots

The plots in anime are just as much reason to get addicted as the characters themselves. Anime Series are almost always gifted with great plots. The plots are seldom ever watered down to suit the audience, thus never undermining the intelligence of the viewers as some of the other cartoon series do. They anime makers can dish out the most elaborate plots and never worry whether anyone will understand whether they will be understood or not – after all, anime is not simply a franchise, it’s a form of art, and if people don’t understand it today. Then maybe the people of tomorrow will.

Anime plots are always suffused with a sufficient amount of suspense, drama, intrigue, politics, and enough twists and turns to leave your jaw hanging. And not only that, they’re usually deep and always have a lesson attached to them.

Animation

Okay, let’s not deny it. Part of the reason why we watch anime is because it simply looks amazing. Take for example Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, although they are in 2D format, sometimes they are drawn even better then the ones that are created in 3D. Given two choices for the general public to pick; to watch Naruto or to watch Shrek 3D my bet is most would choose to watch Naruto. Those overly large eyes, those gravity defying hairstyles, those weirder than weird clothes; they’re simply perfect and enough to make anyone keep coming back for more. The artistic amazement is just none stop however you look at it.
