The chupacabra has become one of the most famous cryptids of the world. The criteria are supposed to animals that no one has shown that there are, but many people insist they are real. Among the most famous are the Loch Ness Monster and Bigfoot.

The reports of the Chupacabra in Puerto Rico are quite similar: “newspapers” report that someone noticed something odd or found dead animals. In the U.S. the phenomenon is of another kind, where dogs, rare breeds occasionally or scabies, and coyotes with mange are classified as the chupacabra because the person who reports not knows what you’re looking at.

Criticism of these reports, and the idea that something like the chupacabra exists, is simple: where is the evidence? Something strange not means it is a chupacabra, particularly if you have an opinion of experts in veterinary medicine, zoology and wildlife.

Cover of “Tracking the Chupacabra”

In his latest book, Benjamin Radford explores the phenomenon of Chupacabra and the evidence in several Latin American countries and the USA. “Tracking the Chupacabra” (Tracing the chupacabra) summarizes the most famous reports supposed to be, the mythology surrounding the legend, and asks questions that reporters never did, revealing details that explain rationally reports. The book was recently published in March and could take some time to read it.

The book’s most important contribution of Radford, a part of a complete documentation of the phenomenon, is to separate the reports into two categories:

1. Reports from Puerto Rico and Latin America on alleged attacks on animals with blood collection.

2. U.S. reports on mammals, especially dogs and coyotes with mange or other diseases, which are called by their appearance chupacabra strange.

In both cases, the evidence is rather poor, the reports do untrained people to reach the conclusions they arrive and the press never gives up needed to reach the truth.

The book has eight chapters and three appendices with the most comprehensive assessment of the phenomenon:

Chapter 1: The mystery of the chupacabra. This chapter outlines generally the most relevant data on the phenomenon. The author summarizes the report’s most famous chupacabra, next to the iconic drawing of 1995 in Canovanas, Puerto Rico. The most interesting is the comparison of the chupacabra descriptions offered, including:

* Has a strong tail vs. no tail

* Spends most of their time flying vs. no wings

* Has three fingers vs. has four

* Has a row of spines on the back vs. no

Vs. * have big ears. Have small ears

Chapter 2: A short story about vampires. This chapter summarizes the legends Radford beings we know as vampires, from Europe, Africa and Latin America. Includes a view of the status issue in Puerto Rico and how the resentment after the American invasion helps create a climate of mistrust, which gives credibility to the legend of people suspected military experiments. It also includes a summary of the reports of the “Moca Vampire”.

Chapter 3: The chupacabra in popular culture. This chapter outlines the poor quality of newspaper reports and how people received these reports. The legend took on a life of its own when people tried to make sense of media reports that reported details impossible to know and did basic questions.

Chapter 4: Finding the chupacabra in Nicaragua. In this chapter, Radford visited a forest in Nicaragua to report on how it might look a wild population of the creature they claimed to be the chupacabra. I do not think this chapter has been necessary, but at least the author tried to explore all alternatives.

Chapter 5: The vampire’s dead speaking: the bodies of the chupacabra. This chapter summarizes the most famous reports of alleged chupacabra corpses. One after another, the author evaluates the media reports and follows up the case, something the press never does. In cases where DNA analysis was done, the result was the same: the body was a dog or coyote. The description of a strange appearance was the result of ignorance of people, because they were not experts in wildlife. Again highlights the responsibility of the press to keep this hysteria, since each new report ignored the previous cases where the body was identified as a known animal.

Chapter 6: The curious case of Cuero chupacabra. Radford takes a particular case to analyze in more detail. This case was an alleged chupacabra caught near the town of Cuero, Texas. The animal turned out to be a coyote with mange, but proponents did not accept the results and the press still use this report as a supposed chupacabra. It also highlights the contradictions of maintaining the idea that a chupacabra. For example, say the animal had no hair, but photos of the body show otherwise. There are people who came to a conclusion and there is no evidence to convince them. What these cases reveal is that the people who make these reports throw a trash can and chupacabra classified as anything that does not know or understand, without seeking the opinion of an expert.

Chupacabra typical drawing in the press

Chapter 7: Reassessing the chupacabra. The author interviewed the witness of the most famous case in Puerto Rico, and gave birth to the image of the chupacabra, Madelyne Tolentino, a resident of Canovanas. Radford evaluates their testimony and asks questions that the press did not, finding more interpretation of facts rather than conclusions unsubstantiated data. Also makes the connection that Madelyne was just before the film Species report, which gives rise to the famous image of the chupacabra. (See my previous article on the subject)

Chapter 8: The chupacabra zoology and science of vampires. In this chapter the author evaluates the most common allegations of chupacabra attacks: the total absence of blood from the body and attacks without predation. To summarize, there is no way to determine that an animal is removed without an autopsy blood by an expert. Therefore, all reports of alleged lack of blood that does not have a vet report to accompany you, are unreliable. The attacks, shows, with reports and science experts of wildlife, coyotes and dogs that are capable of attacking animals and not eat for several reasons. So bite cases where there can be easily explained, attributing the chupacabra requires evidence that the press does not care to collect.

The book ends with three appendices: “Comparison of ten reports of chupacabra remarkable,” “How to identify a chupacabra” and “Interview 2010 with Madelyne Tolentino”.

Following publication of the book, several news media covered briefly. Unfortunately, the media in Puerto Rico once again demonstrated their incompetence and lack of respect for the people. Instead of a book review and discuss a topic that they have exploited, took brief reviews to be on the safe. Even reached to interview Soto Chemo! Instead of interviewing the author (the language is no excuse because Radford speaks Spanish) and discuss their findings, they ask Chemo, without the reporter or the mayor had read the book! In the gall to trash press with which the country, the opinion of Chemo is valid on a subject which has not been shown to have skills and think of a book not read.

Radford’s book is available at soft version folder for the Kindle. Definitely need a Spanish version of this book. But of course, the media continue to cover the phenomenon as real, and more interested in selling them to report the truth. For those who want to see a serious investigation from the point of view or sociological zoo, I recommend the book.

And for more information, i have browsing and find that chupacabra is also available for entertainment. Chupacabra games you can find online and very popular nowadays. You can also find another legend there; Big Foot Games.

Animal cruelty is something that is close to many people’s hearts. Many think of it as an abuse that is akin to child abuse, since animals are also defenseless against the hands or neglect of humans.

It tends to rouse similar anger and outrage as well, and there are now many agencies that are set up to help prevent animal cruelty, and also shelters where rescued animals find solace and comfort from their abusive or neglectful environments.

Years ago, there were not even any laws set up to protect animals from abuse, and abusers were able to get away with doing just about anything they wanted without consequence.

Now, there are animal protection laws set up in almost every state, and if you are found guilty of inhumane treatment of an animal, you are subject to anything from fines to community service, to jail time.

While we’ve come a long way in legislating animal protection laws, there is still room for improvement, as they are not stiff enough penalties in most people’s eyes, and it seems that it’s still taken rather lightly.

While I’m not aligned with the extreme mentality of animal rights groups that preach vegetarianism and use tactics that I don’t deem appropriate to get their point across, I certainly admire what they are trying to do, which is drawing attention to the animal kingdom and getting the word out that our furry friends need our help when they do not have a voice of their own to defend themselves.

One can read about stories of inhumane treatment weekly in any newspaper, and some of the stories are enough to make one nauseous. There are stories of animals left in homes without food or water, in their own waste and crawling with fleas and ticks, stories of farm animals abandoned, neglected, underfed and abused, and horrifying tales of household pets being beaten, starved, deprived of care, and even killed at the hands of the very people who are supposed to take care of them, that all still need to be addressed.

There are some steps you can take to make sure you are not a silent voice in the quest to prevent animal cruelty, you just need to be aware of your surroundings and know what to look for.

You can report any suspicions to the local police, or if you have an agency that works with abused animals, you can call on them to investigate and rectify also, usually the APL (Animal Protective League) and other similar shelters and animal rights nonprofit organizations will be able to help as well.

Some of the signs to look for you may already know, as most people who are animal lovers have a built in instinct for knowing when an animal has been abused or neglected. Many animals who have been physically abused will be hand shy.

They will not want to come near you or any other person, and may be especially leery of their owners or react in an aggressive way toward them or others.

While this does not always indicate abuse, as some animals are just tempered that way, it is a good underlying factor to look at when determining if an animal has been physically abused.

If an animal has patches of fur missing or looks extremely thin, or even if they are overrun with fleas, this may indicate neglect. Another one to look for is animals that you see outside on extremely cold days, tied to a chain for hours without any warm shelter. This is dangerous and can be abuse if the animal does not have a place of shelter to retreat to.

Likewise if they are left chained outside for hours without food or water – water of course being the most vital of the two. Use your judgment, there are always animals that may be acclimated to certain situations, but if you consistently see this, and are suspicious it may be worth an investigation by an officer of an animal protection agency or the police department.

Of course the most obvious thing to look out for is actually witnessing an act of animal abuse. If you see a person physically assaulting an animal, please make sure you report this immediately, as this is the most blatant and obvious form of animal abuse and certainly warrants a report for investigation.

If we all do our part in preventing animal cruelty, we can make this world a better and safer place for our furry friends who entrust us with their life and well being. If we don’t look out for them, who will?

Animation is the speedy display of a series of images of 2-D artwork in order to create an illusion of movement. One of the most common ways of presenting animation is a motion picture or video program, although several other forms of presenting animation also exist. Because of the highly entertaining value it has, animation has been used in films as it has the capacity to attract an audience of various age groups, from 8 to 80.
The use of animation in films probably began in the year 1890. J. Stuart Blackton was the first man who put animation in his film titled ‘Humorous Phases of Funny Faces’. The film featured a cartoonist drawing faces on a chalkboard, and the faces actually coming to life. After that many filmmakers and producers started using various animations in their films that apparently brought life to their pictures.
Soon, the stage came where the audience gradually got the chance to see films or movies where each and every character was animated. Those are full fledged animated movies. If we take a look at the list of the block bluster movies, we will be surprised to find that animation movies are equally contributing to this list.
Movies like The Lion King, Shrek, Monsters, Toy Story, Aladdin, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Ice Age, Tarzan, A Bug’s Life, etc. are considered as the top 10 animated movies both by the viewers and critics. Giant entertainment companies like Walt Disney, Pixar, Fox Entertainment, Dream Works, etc. have invested millions of dollars behind these animated movies and their profit was also up to the expectation.
The Lion King produced by Walt Disney Feature Production is one of the most thought provoking animated movies. It was originally titled the King of the Jungle. In order to achieve perfection the animators who worked on this movie studied the activities and the movements of real life animals too. In fact the filmmakers were such perfectionists that they went to Kenya to study the natural habitat that is used as a background in the film. The film featured green grass, the smoke from the fire, and the waterfall, all presented in perfect animation. The characters were built using 3D computer programmes that looked perfect.
Shrek is based upon a fairy tale picture produced by Dream Works. Though the film is meant for children, the theme has also attracted adults. The plot of the movie is simple and humorous. In fact this movie became so popular that computer games were made on Shrek.
Aladdin, the animated film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation, is based on the story of Aladdin and the magic lamp of Arabian Nights. The character of Aladdin was drawn by keeping in mind the faces of various Hollywood heroes and at the end it was decided that he would look like Tom Cruise. Special computer animations were used to develop some scenes of the movie. Some such instances are the full view of the palace, the magic carpet, the breaking up of the cave, etc.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, produced in 1937 by Walt Disney, is considered as one of the first commercially successful animation films. The film is a pioneer in many ways. It took three years to make this film because at that time the animations were not developed. They used many techniques that were in the primary stage of development at that time. They used animations to create rain, lightning, water, reflections, sparkles, magic, etc.
Toy Story, produced by Pixar Animation Studio is an animated movie that is fully created on computer. The story revolves around the toys of a nine year old boy and the story of the film is told from the toy’s point of view.
A Bug’s Life, again produced by Pixar Animation Studio and released in 1998, tells the tale of ants which think that they are warrior bugs and they have the courage to fight with the greedy grasshoppers. John Lasseter directed it. The story is based on the famous Aesop’s fable of the Ant and the Grasshopper.
One can see that most of the animation movies are meant for children. But elders also equally enjoy these because these animation movies have various layers of meaning. With the rapid developments in various animated software, one can surely expect a solid future in producing animation films.

Everyone knows animation when they see it. Animation is the process of using rapidly moving drawn or computer generated images to give the illusion of motion. Animation is what is used to make the Saturday morning cartoons you see on television and it is what is used to make those holiday specials everyone looks forward to seeing all year. Animation can also be done with 3-Dimensional objects like clay or action figures as in the very popular Christmas specials made back in the 1970′s that featured small dolls being filmed using stop motion photography. Animation used to be considered a novelty when it came to movies or prime time television shows. Studios would never think of putting animation in a position where it would be the feature even after the 1930′s when Walt Disney proved with Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs that animation could carry a full-length feature film. But over time something changed and now animation is threatening to be the method of choice for not only filmmakers but also prime time television producers as well.

For years the area of the animated feature film was the sole domain of the Walt Disney Company. Other companies would spring up and make the occasional animated feature but the only studio making their living, and reputation, almost solely on their animated feature films was the Walt Disney Company. Warner Brothers opened up an animation studio to compete with the animated short films that Disney was using to dominate the children’s market and Warner Brothers also wanted to use their animated short films as an enticement for theater owners to show their regular feature films. If the theater owner agreed to show the Warner Brothers feature film being offered they would get the animated cartoon for free. Since the cartoons from Warner Brothers were becoming breakaway hits, and many people were gladly paying full admission just to see the cartoons, it became an easy way for Warner Brothers to get their movies into theaters. But by the late 1970′s things started to change and animation was headed towards respectability in the mainstream media markets.

One of the people usually credited with bringing animation to the forefront is someone who did not deal in animation at all. Jim Henson was a puppet maker and he soon became world famous for his television shows, and movies, that featured his puppets that he called Muppets. In 1979 Henson released The Muppet Movie and while it did not change anyone’s mind about animation it did bring an interesting dynamic to the big screen that not many people had seen before. In The Muppet Movie there were puppets interacting with real people and being the main characters in the movie. Many movies before The Muppet Movie had used the idea of puppets, or animated characters, interacting with real people but The Muppet Movie was a sensational hit and it brought the idea to millions of people that had never seen it before. In 1982 Henson released The Dark Crystal, which was a fantasy feature film that used only puppets as characters and featured no actors at all. It wasn’t animation, and it was not as big of a hit as The Muppet Movie was, but The Dark Crystal proved that you did not need actors to carry a feature film. Six years later this idea was used to break open animation forever.

In 1988 Who Framed Roger Rabbit? was released and for the first time a feature film that used cartoons as its main characters won multiple Academy Awards. The film was monumental also for the fact that even though Walt Disney Studios made the film it also featured Warner Brothers’ characters as well. At the time it was released it was the most expensive movie ever made and it was also one of the most successful movies of the year. Roger Rabbit blew the doors off the animation world and suddenly studios everywhere we clamoring to create their own animated feature film. Animation had hit the big time.

Today two of the longest running prime time shows on television are animated. Family Guy is entering its eighth season on Fox network in the prime time Sunday slot and The Simpsons is entering its record breaking twentieth season on Fox prime time as well. South Park is entering its thirteenth season on Comedy Central and shows no signs of stopping. The Simpsons and South Park have both generated hit feature films during their run and the creators of South Park had a minor hit feature film when they made a movie completely with puppets. Today it is not unusual to find that two or three of the summer blockbusters are animated features and with the help of computers animation is heading into new and exciting directions.

For more information on animation, visit http://www.3dtoon.com.

The old adage “you can clue an animal to water, but you can’t make him choice” was definitely coined by somebody who knew nothing about affection-based animal teaching. If that anyone had known about, and had practical the principles of education animals based ahead affection and relationship-edifice strategies, the slogan most maybe would not even survive.

Let’s originate by exploring the center of teaching exotic animals, which is called operant conditioning. This prime education policy lays the foundation ahead which the principles of affection-based schooling are built. Through operant conditioning, exotic animals learn from their own behaviors as they are relevant to the environments in which they exist. The probability that a limited animal conduct moreover increases or decreases is frankly proportionate to the consequences the animal experiences. In other lexis, certain fallout fabricate convinced behaviors in exotic animals, resultant in the enlarged chances that such conduct will be recurring.

It is amazing how parallel affection-based teaching in exotic animals compares to the same techniques when applied to be beings. For instance, a baby who brings home a fantastic account license basically because he chose to request himself at educate is prone to maintain making high marks when he receives recognition and praise from his parents. If the same teen’s parents pay no attention to his accomplishments at teach, it is exceedingly doable that the daughter’s enthusiasm for a job well done will be significantly, if not completely diminished. The teen’s approach promptly changes to a “why worry?” mindset.

Exotic animals reply precisely the same way … No praise, no motivation to recur the assured conduct. Without a confirmed outcome, the animal is far fewer potential to duplicate the certain, beloved behavior.

Acclimating Exotic Animals to New Environments

Building a strapping relationship with an exotic animal should instigate in the first probable playhouse of the animal’s life. Whether you have a young tiger cub, a babe bronzed develop, a baby elephant or any other exotic animal, it is essential that the animal becomes acclimated and is comfortable with the creature proclaim and the soul stir. Begin with container-feeding and elicit the animal as part of your family, much as you would a new baby. As the animal grows, so does the relationship, with the animal accepting you as a part of its tribe.

Again, this part of the exotic animal schooling experience is intriguingly like that of the soul experience. Consider the post in which a new worker comes on stay as the outcome of her issue’s being acquired by your business. If the new employee is treated with a “hands-off” attitude, it is very probable that her potential for high performance on the job will never be realized. However, if she is tenderly standard, treated with reverence and given believe for what she brings to the diagram, it is awfully likely that she will present well in her new business environment and be a valued portion of your lineup.

Positive Reinforcement in Training Exotic Animals

It is a given that exotic animals respond to experience they perceive as corporeal. In other words, a tiger will achieve as preferred if it receives a convinced rejoinder as an experience it can feel, think, see or taste. These forms of reinforcement are important and certain, providing the tiger with a spur, whether as a rub down, uttered praise, food or even opportunities for mating.

An exact and amazing example of how teaching exotic animals with certain reinforcement generates preferred behavior can also be witnessed by observing the outcome in humans when they are also provided their respective stimuli. Think back to your younger time when you and your classmates each expected a crate of chocolates to retail to lift money for your teach. What could perhaps motivate kids to give up riding their bikes and playing ball after teach to go door-to-door difficult to market candy? Simple, it was the imply of an ice-cream troop for the caste who sold the most.

Another practice for teaching exotic animals to exhibit and recap positive behavior involves with conditioned reinforcement. This formed of reinforcement not practice or involuntary, but sooner is scholarly. Your exotic animal will learn over a stage of time and through repetition that if she performs the appropriate and preferred behavior that she will earn a jovial “Good Girl” and a well-deserved back rug.

For an idea of how conditioned reinforcement facility in schooling exotic animals, consider a greatly exotic species we call the being teenager. He would most possibly move gradually each morning the first week of his new summer job. However, once he earns his first wages, he is more likely than not to have a little bounce in his stage the trice week. He has erudite direct, and much to his delight, that departing to work equals a salary, which is his spur. Likewise, if the top yearly producer on your sales employees is recognized with an “all expenses salaried” golf falter, it is an assured bet that he will be an amazing go-getter next year and put onward his best labors towards achieving the same reward.

Regardless of the species of exotic animal with which you are effective, a strategically devised training diagram that incorporates basics of both principal reinforcement and conditional reinforcement ensures you the best outcome in achieving desired results with your animal. Relationships that are established and fostered early on in which the animal is nurtured intensely permit you to become the leader pretty than tiresome to assume the task as master, which inevitably leads to frustration for both you and your animal.

Achieve amazing results in exotic animal training by putting relationship-structure, affection-based training concepts to work for you today. The method ensures best results every time. Both you and your exotic animal deserve the best opportunity for winner, and hands-down, these principles of animal training are the stepping shingle ahead which you can achieve the winner you each deserve.

Are you an animal lover? Are you interested in working with animals? As we all know, people who will most probably enter a career that handles animals are natural animal lovers. And, if you are one of these people, you can engage in some animal career training to help you get into the specific animal-related profession you want. A range of animal career training modules and courses for every animal-related career are available. There are a lot of courses to choose from such as animal training, medical classes for animal care, and courses that train one to assist in different animal-related professions. In general, there are two main classifications of animal career training courses that you could engage into.

1. Caring for Sick Animals
Training courses that are related with animals involve certain aspects of animal care. Veterinary courses are one of the more popular animal training courses that one can get into. If you want to become a veterinarian, you will get a lot from this training because these courses simulate real life situations that provide hands-on training in taking care of sick animals and let one practice medicine as well.

If you do not have the time to go out and attend classroom courses, you can still study through the Veterinary Assistant Program. It is a program that lets you take animal career training courses online. Enrolling in the Veterinary Assistant Program helps you to become a vet’s assistant by following a module that draws special attention to animal behavior, veterinary pharmacology, care during urgent situations, and so on. Anyone who displays enthusiasm in the subject in spite of their lack of any background regarding the work can take this course. Another possible animal care course you can engage in are pet grooming courses. By taking this course, you will get the chance to enter the business of pet care with pet grooming as the main focus.

2. Training Animals
Obedience and training is another focus to get involved in. Most animal career training institutes has courses that center in dog obedience and training but there are also some who offer training modules that also involve horses and other animals.

Courses centering on obedience and training can be obtained not only in traditional school setting but also through online schools. Your pet-loving nature can indeed lead you to a career that features contact with animals on a daily basis. Searching the Internet about courses that give animal career training can help you decide the course to take be it in dog grooming or dog training, or even training other kinds of animals such as horses and other aquatic animals.

Technology and star power have contributed to the animation phenomenon, and animation—a genre that has its roots in children’s entertainment—is now more widespread and widely respected than ever before.

Animated films have been a part of our culture for just over 100 years. In 1906, a newspaper cartoonist named J. Stuart Blackton released the first fully animated film, “Humorous Phases of Funny Faces.” Since then, animation has used drawings and illustrations to entertain and delight many generations of viewers.

In the past decade, the animated film industry has seen a number of exciting changes. Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) is increasingly used, as well as using individual cells drawn by animators. Animated film budgets are also much higher than they once were. As a result, animated films are now receiving greater recognition and are not simply relegated to being kids’ films. Animation studios and their work are also garnering more attention because high-profile actors are doing voiceovers as opposed to relatively unknown actors.

During the first 90 years of animation and animated films, each cell of a film was drawn by animators. Any of the classic animated films by Disney, including “Snow White” or “Aladdin,” used this method. Hand drawn animation is still used in tandem with Computer-Generated Imagery (CGI). But, like everything else in our culture, animated films are advancing technologically, with CGI animation used for special effects. In 1995, “Toy Story” became the first feature-length animated film to use CGI.

Technology has raised the status of animated films, but star power has helped as well. When Disney’s “Aladdin” was released in 1992, it was one of the first feature-length animated films to feature the voice of a famous actor—Robin Williams as the Genie. Three years later, with the release of “Toy Story” viewers enjoyed being entertained by Tim Allen and Tom Hanks. This led to the phenomenon of other high-profile actors being cast in feature-length animated films.

Perhaps because they are making use of advanced technology and established actors, animated films are also more critically recognized than ever before. In 2002, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences added the Best Animated Film category to the Oscar awards. “Shrek” was the first to win the award. But, this category came after a long wait by animation studios to have animation recognized as an artistically valid medium of filmmaking. Before the award was introduced, “Beauty and the Beast” was the only feature-length animated film to be nominated for Best Picture.

The addition of this category to the Academy Awards Ceremony in 2002 had an affect on animation overall and increased interest in the medium. As animated feature films rise in popularity, animation has become more accepted and can now be found in a wider range of television commercials and even films not in the animated category such as Richard Linklater’s “A Scanner Darkly.”

The movement extends even beyond Hollywood; advertisers, web designers and marketing firms are now using animation due to its wide appeal with audiences. It is not unheard of for a branding agency to have an in-house animation studio to take advantage of this popular medium.

From the movie screen to your computer screen, animation is becoming more prevalent. Technology and star power have contributed to the animation phenomenon, and animation—a genre that has its roots in children’s entertainment—is now more widespread and widely respected than ever before.

Whether you need a gift for Christmas, a birthday or other occasion, anime fans can be hard to buy for, especially if you know little about the world known as “anime”. First, let me explain a little about anime. Anime is a type of animation that started in Japan. Basically, you can call it a Japanese version of cartoons. However, anime has some big differences. Where American animation tends to be geared primarily towards children, there are actually many types of anime, geared for many ages and interests. For instance, there are anime series targeted squarely at young boys, young girls, young women and so on. There are also adult anime series, with more adult themes and content. There are also many different thematic styles of anime, including those centered around robots (called mecha), romantic anime, fighting anime and so on.

In order for you to choose a fantastic gift for the anime fan in your life, you first need an idea of what anime series or at least what kind of anime series they enjoy. Find out by perusing their DVD collection or checking what they watch on TV. Once you know the series they like, here are some suggestions for surefire gifts for anime fans:

Manga

Manga is simply the Japanese version of comic books or graphic novels. Many anime series are based on a manga series. Any anime fan would love the original manga their favorite anime is based on. For original Japanese manga, you can usually find some on eBay and at Japanese importers like JustManga and Manga.com. For the most popular anime series, like Inuyasha, you can find English translated manga books at many major bookstores.

Live Action and Japanese Drama DVD’s

Some anime and manga series have a live action version, like Sailor Moon, that a Sailor Moon fan would likely be interested in. If your anime fan seems interested in Japanese culture, then consider getting them some Japanese TV drama series. There are many Japanese drama series aimed at tweens and teens that usually take place in school or high school. Check out Nodame Cantabile, Hana Yori Dango and Gokusen, each was based on anime or manga series or both. Look for these series at places like YesAsia and on eBay. Make sure to get the English subtitled versions.

Toys

Some anime series, like Gundam, Neon Genesis Evangelion and others, have many toys available. If you really want to get a special gift, try to get some of the toys that are imported from Japan. Toys available include action figures, vehicles, stuffed toys, models and dolls. You can find toys for the most popular anime series at major toy stores, but for not so popular series, try eBay, YesAsia and other import websites.

Video Games

Many of the most popular anime series like Naruto, Inuyasha and Bleach also have video games based on them. This is a great gift idea since what anime fan wouldn’t want to play a game as their favorite character? Make sure to find out what game system they have so you can get a game for their particular console or handheld.

Music

Many anime fans become interested in Japanese culture through anime, especially since popular Japanese artists and bands are used on the soundtracks to the majority of anime series. You can get them the soundtrack to the series or even a few JPOP or JROCK CD’s. JPOP and JROCK is the abbreviation of Japanese pop and Japanese rock music. Find many artists at both YesAsia and eBay. Popular Japanese music artists include Ayumi Hamasaki (pop), Utada Hikaru (pop/R&B), Arashi (pop boy band), L’Arc-en-Ciel (rock band), Morning Musume (pop girl band) and many more.

Collectibles & Decorative Items

There are also many collectibles and decorative items available for some series. Consider animation cells, limited edition toys, photo albums, calendars, posters and more. Find these at YesAsia and eBay.

Clothing & Apparel

Some anime fans enjoy dressing up as their favorite character, this is called “cosplay”. Try to find out who their favorite character is and get them a costume or accessories. For instance, an Inuyasha fan would love a necklace like the one Inuyasha wears or a play sword like he uses. Or go all out and get them a full costume just like their favorite character. One place to check out is CosplayMagic.com.

Language Books or Software

If your anime fan has a serious interest in Japanese culture, then consider getting them a book or audio learning set to help them learn, read and write Japanese. This is an excellent gift option if you’re having a hard time finding gifts from their favorite anime series. This is also a gift you can feel good about, since learning a new language is a very valuable skill for their future.

Food

From sushi to Pocky, if your anime fan has an interest in Japanese culture, they might like to try some of the food they have seen consumed in animes and dramas. Some suggestions include a sushi making kit, Japanese candy and gum, Pocky (a pretzel covered with chocolate), strange flavored Japanese versions of candy bars like KitKat and more. You can find many types of Japanese candy at AsianFoodGrocer and other Japanese food import sites.

The concept of animation and its applications

Dynamism made happen in today’s web sites with the help of sorts of animated stuff is a nice thing to give them a lively and happening look. Conceptually, animation might include anything which exhibits motion in its stride – hence it might include popping text on the site to full fledged videos, Flash applications or animated movies. It is strange but true that certain kind of graphics where the motion is not noticeable can also be called animation. This article is primarily concerned with the kind of animation where sensing the motion of the object is not difficult and motion catches the attention easily.

Animation has got promising potential for web sites. The human propensity to spot the object in motion is far more greater than object at rest. That’s the reason prudent marketers, and intelligent advertisers use animation to get viewers’ attention to their enticing offerings, or marketing messages in the hope of favorable end results. Undoubtedly, animated objects grab human attention. Whether it leads to favorable end results is something largely dependent on the specialty of offer and behavioral dynamics of consumers. Nevertheless, animation plays its vital role in the process.

Human touch to animation is critical — Go for intuitive and organic animation

Animation, when used on the sites, should appear to be human and natural. Human beings are environmentally trained to perceive the motion of object right in the manner they see it in every day’s life, from their birth to death. Therefore, animation exhibited on the web sites should be what people would like to see and what conforms to their subconscious expectations. This is what human or natural animation is all about.

With the right use of animation, the chances of clickability of an icon or a link increase. But the thing which must be kept in mind that it is the right use of animation, not otherwise. The right use of animation is analogous to intuitive, aesthetics, natural and organic use to serve your purpose. Your ability to use animation in the right manner is not something you will develop all of a sudden – experience and curiosity will teach you many great lessons.

Animation which lacks human or natural elements can prove to be a feature most despised by the users. Excessive or mindless use of animation to showcase your unique creative potential can turn into a big nuisance. One can well imagine the correlation of making nuisance and doing business all at the same time.

How to make animation engaging rather than merely natural

Remember that there is a very thin line between making the animation engaging and making it disgusting and annoying. What appeals to human mind is a complex and delicate issue. Overstepping on such path is a road ahead to disaster. However, there are certain principles and guidelines, which when adhered to, ensure that you do not cross the limits of human creative and intuitive appeal. These thumb rules are meant to be a beckoning light which can illuminate your ways — while you strive to make the animation not only natural, but engaging too.

Use animated graphics on the web site wisely and economically. It is real pleasure to see one’s creative animations on the site: but the question is whether they are equally pleasurable for the viewers as well.

Couple good animations with good design skills with uniformity and consistency on mind. Try to hit on the aesthetics sense of the viewers in real-like manner.

How would you go about hitting on aesthetics sensibilities of the viewers? Here is how to work on it.

• Animate the object precisely in the same way as it happens in the physical world.

• Never disappoint the viewers to see what they want to see as per their perceptual patterns.

• Animation on the Web should be an extension of occurrences of natural motion surrounding us.

• Dynamism on the Web cannot afford to deceive the viewers into some imaginary world; rather it should offer a glimpse of real life experiences with adept skills.

Animation with uniform speed is not supposed to be visually appealing and psychologically satisfying. Similarly, sudden movement of an object on the Web, or coming to rest instantly defies viewer friendliness. So, in order to make your animation get commanding visual presence, accelerate or decelerate the pace of movement. It can be more eye catcher, and thus, help you get more clickthroughs

Motion along a circular path attracts more attention than simply linear motion. The best use of motion could be rotating the object, even though on a straight line with engaging acceleration or deceleration.

Making animation with third dimension adds to its charm. The expanding or shrinking appearance of the object while in rotation along a linear or circular path with choosy acceleration or deceleration never ceases to have an inviting look.

How to lessen the monotony of linear motion and creatively adapt it

As you know that linear motion does not go well with the viewers. However, there are numerous stances where designers use linear motion for animation. What skillful designers do in the process is that they try to lessen the monotony of such motion by adopting the following techniques.

• They use the shortest possible linear motion that might serve the purpose. Short instances of linear motion do not breed monotony for viewers.

• They use different motion paths, though simple and enticing, of the same object rather than its single complex trajectory. The short and natural movements along different motion paths create a cohesive appeal to the viewers.

• They try to ward off the linearity of animations. The employ such techniques as change in the intensity of color as the object moves on, gradual emergence or natural and logical disappearance of object while in transformation, and sensible use of acoustics.

3D animation holds immense creative possibilities

Computer generated graphics coupled with 3D Animation is a whole new world of creative possibilities. Thanks to the plenty of 3D softwares readily available in the market which help to portray animations in the most natural manner. 3D Animation with time factor attached to it gives human brain a satisfying psychological pleasure because instances of real life motion can pretty well be replicated on computer screen. That is probably the reason for massive popularity of 3D computer games, especially among young generation. They experience the wow in visual transformation, imagery, animated stuff, and real life engaging motion.

What is so unique in case of 3D Animation is outstanding possibility to depict motion with a human and natural touch. With skillful manifestation of such intricacies of motion like change in color, texture, intensity of moving object, emergence or disappearance, distortions, morphing, natural progression and finality of the motion, it can happen the way we are congenitally accomosted to visualize and hence experience motion.

3D Animation, despite being so good a tool, is unfortunately very selectively used by designers.

Although there is abundance of animation on the websites, most of them do not use this potent tool vitally. They fail to engage the viewers in their preferred mode of visual sensation, and fall short of expectations. Nothing less than engaging outcome can be hoped when using such a powerful tool; right here they failed miserably. The reasons being the lack of intuitive-creative-organic appeal, and which, in turn, suppress the subliminal expectations of the viewers – resulting into visual menace.
